Did you go see The Hunger Games this weekend?  Unlike the rest of the world, I didn’t.  I still have a copy of the book on my shelf, nagging me to finish it…and I hate to see the movie before I’ve read the book.  It just makes it harder to enjoy the book if I already have someone else’s imagining of it in my head.

Anyway, for those who DID go see The Hunger Games this weekend, I decided the “Panem’s 74th Annual Hunger Games Shirt” was worth a mention. I don’t like a lot of movie shirts, but I do like this one.  It’s simple and understated, as movie shirts go.  Plus, clueless people will probably think “Hunger Games” references some kind of charity fundraiser you participated in, so that’s always a plus.

I’ve gotta say, I’m a little bitter about this Downton Abbey trend.  You see, I’ve been watching old lady shows and taking heat for it ever since I was a kid.  Miss Marple; Murder, She Wrote; Hetty Wainthrop; Ballykissangel…I love’em all.  There’s just something calming about those British accents, even when crazy stuff like murder and adultery is going on.  I swear, the grandmas of the men I date end up liking me better than the men themselves.

I like Downtown Abbey, too.  I just hate that all the people who used to make fun of me are totally hooked on it and they won’t even admit they were wrong about the awesomeness of old lady shows.  Whatever, I’m over it now.

Anyway, I saw this “Downtown Abbey” t-shirt playing on the Downton Abbey name and I had to post it.  Uppity butler?  Check. Silly outdated reference to urban culture? Check. Oh. Em. Gee. This shirt.  I can’t look at it without hearing the song in my head, and I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to, either.  Seriously, if you want to be the  jerk who gets LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem stuck in everyone’s head, THIS is the shirt to own.

The shirt features a flamboyantly-dressed stick figure man who does indeed appear to be shuffling.  The lettering, of course, reads, “Every day I’m shuffling.”  Surprise, right?  Ok, now go get your own Every Day I’m Shuffling T-Shirt and drive people insane.

• Funny Pop Culture T-Shirts

Remember Billy Madison?  You know, the Adam Sandler movie where he has to go back to school and get through all the grades in a really short time period…and learns so much about himself in the process (like how it’s cool to pee your pants)?  This Billy Madison t-shirt is a great reminder of the importance of being nice to people – especially the weird ones.

In case you don’t remember it, what happened is that Billy Madison decides to call up an old school acquaintance (played beautifully by Steve Buscemi) and apologize for being a jerk so many years before.  Unbeknownst to him, the guy has been harboring a grudge for years and has him on a list of people to kill.  The apology gets his name crossed off the list (and Steve Buscemi’s creepy character ends up saving his butt later in the movie).  You can see the clip below – and you can get the Billy Madison People to Kill t-shirt here.

• Funny Pop Culture T-Shirts

Yes, Dumb and Dumber is an OLLLLD movie.  Yes, I can remember seeing it in the theater (sigh).  It’s still abso-freaking-lutely hilarious.  I end up getting it out once every year or so just to give it another watch – it’s that funny.

One of the highlights of the movie, of course, is the Shaggin Wagon.  The van is used for Lloyd ad Harry’s pet grooming business, and they later end up taking it on the road as they make their ill-fated roadtrip to Aspen.  The movie totally made me want to visit Aspen, too…until I learned that it wasn’t shot in Aspen and most of the footage is from Utah or somewhere like that.  I’m not holding it against the Shaggin Wagon, though – or the Shaggin Wagon T-Shirt.

I’ll admit, it took me a second to get the “I Mustache You A Question” Shirt.  I read, “I Mustache You a Question,” but it wasn’t until the “But I’ll Shave it For Later” part that the first half really sunk in.  I love that in a shirt.

I also love the old-timey barbershop feel of the I Mustache You a Question Shirt.  It makes me think of ghost towns and grizzled sheriffs and showdowns at high noon.  What about you? Would you wear it?  Keep in mind, the I Mustache You a Question Shirt comes in both men’s t-shirts and women’s t-shirts.   I wouldn’t recommend gifting it to a woman with a mustache, though.  Stick with the hair-free, as they’re less apt to be sensitive to the topic.

It all started with Anne Rice.  That saucy old gal brought vampires back in vogue in a huge way when her book, Interview With a Vampire, was released as a movie.  Since then, it’s been a steady stream of vampire books and movies, and that trend has peaked in recent years with shows like True Blood and movies/books like the Twilight Series and Amanda Hocking’s best-selling Kindle books.

So yes, I’m sick of vampires.  Aren’t you?  I thought zombies might be our salvation, but lately they’ve been overdoing that, too.

Anyway, that explains why I so love the Orange You Sick of Vampires Yet Shirt seen below.  Unfortunately, it’s only available in ladies’ sizing, but for those of us with lady parts, it’s a cute wardrobe option for going to school, working out, or running errands.  I do not, however, recommend wearing the Orange You Sick of Vampires T-Shirt to a local Twilight showing.  Unless you like being accosted by angry teenage girls and 20-30something housewives.

These days everybody’s rocking some internet meme shirt.  In this post, though, I want to take it back a few years and feature some serious 90s awesomeness.  Everybody remembers the Tim Allen show Home Improvement, right?  And of course, if you watched the show, you remember the strange tool company, Binford Tools, that funded Tim Taylor’s show Tool Time.  Somehow, Tim Taylor managed to use Binford tools to cause more damage than the average slasher film bad guy – yet nobody ever died.  Ohhhh, you have to love the TV magic.

I’ve only seen a few episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but I’ve enjoyed every one of them.  I’d definitely like to watch the rest when I have a little more free time on my hands.  This Kitten Mittens Shirt just reminds me why I like the show.  It’s quirky and funny, but there’s a certain simplicity to a lot of the humor that’s refreshing.
